Resolution 2024

Many people resolve to make changes in the new year, but have you thought about your spiritual resolutions for 2024? As Christ-followers, we should make an effort to spend our time and resources doing things that honour God and show His Love.

The Bible tells us to become more like Christ, which requires consistent growth. Setting New Year’s resolutions which focus on Jesus will help us become ‘set apart’ from the world, like God has called us to be. ("holy" means "set apart")

1Peter 2:9 - “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

Below are 4 spiritual resolutions to consider (we’ve posted these in the past, but they are worth repeating):

1.  Read and Study the Word of God. Which Bible version?

2Timothy 2:15 - “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

2.  Pray. Prayer is a communication tool with God. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. Simply tell God your thoughts (He knows them anyway!) and listen for His answer.

James 5:16b - “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

If you are married or soon-to-be, Pray Aloud with Your Spouse (don't miss the 34-second video clip).

3.  “Show and Tell”. Be God’s hands and feet. Show God’s Love and tell others about His saving grace!

Matthew 22:37-39 – “... Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 ... Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

4.     Give Jesus the 3-Ts --your Time, Talents and Treasures. Tithe, support a missionary, serve your church or a ministry, consider volunteering or donating to organizations that spread the gospel message.

Matthew 6:19-21 - “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Christ-followers have VICTORY in Jesus! Take hold of The One Who brought you back and bought you back.

Happy New Year from the Team!
