Scripture tells us that God sees things differently than we do. He is spiritual, we are physical. His ways are higher than ours. God sees our heart; He knows our thoughts and intents yet still sees the best in us. He’s our Creator and knows the very number of hairs on our head! Like Jonah, we can’t run or hide from God … and why would we want to if He loves us unconditionally and gives us everything we need? After we’re saved and growing in our spiritual walk, it becomes easier to see things from a spiritual perspective (versus physical or worldview). Today’s song brings to mind that God loves us even at our worst.
Isaiah 55:8-9 – “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Matthew 10:27-28, 32-33 – “What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” John 15:13 - “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” 2Peter 3:18 - “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
