Blood Gives Life

When you think about blood, what comes to mind? Many people associate blood with pain or injury, but blood is not only essential to our physical life, it's essential to our spiritual life as well. Blood=Life. Just as there is no substitute for blood in the human body, there is no substitute for Jesus and His gift of shed blood for our spiritual birth into life eternal.

The shed blood of Jesus is the atonement for our souls; without it, there would be no remission of sin, no ability to spend eternity in heaven with the Most High God. Hebrews 9:22 - “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

If you take a look at many of today’s Christian songs, the lyrics don’t talk about the blood of Jesus as much as they used to. Why the seeming disregard for mentioning the critical role that blood plays for our eternity in heaven? The Bible tells us that we overcome the devil and his works when we testify to what Jesus’ blood has accomplished. According to the richness of His grace, we are justified and have redemption through His blood.

What a sacrifice Jesus made! He took our sin and made it possible to be washed clean and new. 1John 1:7 -“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

He gave the gift … but like any gift, you must accept it, open it. Your sin is not washed clean until you are spiritually born into His family. It is the single most important decision you will ever make. What are you waiting for?

O the blood, crimson Love, price of life's demand. Shameful sin, placed on Him, The Hope of every man! O the blood of Jesus washes me! O the blood of Jesus, shed for me! What a sacrifice that saved my life! Yes, the blood, it is my victory!

The blood of the Lamb, the Great I AM, gave Christ-followers victory! Romans 5:9 -“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

Thank you, Jesus!
