To My (Future) Mate

Today’s message is primarily for the unmarried, but is also good knowledge for married people and for all to share. The song is written from the male perspective to his future wife but can also be applied oppositely to females looking for their future husband. Whichever the case, God created someone special for each of us. Sometimes finding that special mate takes longer than we think it should or doesn’t happen the way we thought it would, but remember that God’s ways are higher and His timing is perfect. Patience is a difficult virtue to acquire but oftentimes God is waiting for us to develop a relationship with Him first, before He introduces a future mate, in order for God to become the head of your marital trinity. Seek Him first and everything else will fall into place, just as your Heavenly Father designed. Single or married, trust Jesus not only for your salvation but to guide your life here on earth too.

Song Lyrics: “Dear future wife, I’ve been wishing, I’ve been waiting, I’ve been hoping and praying that you’re out there somewhere on this earth. Someday I’ll meet you face-to-face, but for tonight I have some things I wanna say. Maybe you are feeling broken but I know you’re beautiful, and the God Who loves us both is gonna make you whole. And while you're waiting just for me, I'll do my bеst so I can be the future husband that my futurе wife deserves. Dear future wife, I’ve gotta tell you I’m still working on my life. I’m still trying, I’m still learning and this song is my confession that I’m nowhere near perfection, but the God Who loves us both is gonna make me whole. And on that day I finally see you dressed in white, I know that we will say that all the waiting was worth it 'cause that moment is so perfect when the God Who loves us both makes us one.”

Mark 10:6-9 – “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Isaiah 54:5 - “For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” Ephesians 5:33 - “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. 1Corinthians 11:11-12 – “Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. 12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.”

Man and woman were made for one another and are to be a comfort and blessing to each other, not one a servant and the other a tyrant. By God’s providence and grace, the authority and subjection of each party should be mutual and of benefit to the relationship. Most importantly, whether you’re already married or plan to be someday, the survival rate is exponentially higher with Jesus at the center. It’s never too late to invite Jesus into your heart or marital trinity. Pray aloud together as One and watch what God does! Marriage Takes Three! (PDF)
