Victory in Jesus

Christian music in America varies in style. While some people enjoy an old, beautiful hymn, others prefer more contemporary or soulful music with a good beat; still others prefer Southern gospel or bluesy-type praise. Whatever the style, the lyrics should express our Love of Jesus and faith in God and His Holy Word … that’s what matters. Singing to the Lord can be a great encouragement in a believer’s spiritual walk. We won’t all agree on or like the same style, but praise isn’t about us, it’s about Jesus! That’s why God created music … so we could praise Him! He didn't give everyone a beautiful voice, but our heartfelt praise is what's beautiful to Him. Won’t you lift up your hands and sing along to this wonderful hymn about the victory Christ-followers have?

Psalms 134:2 - “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.” Psalms 104:33 - “I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” 1Corinthians 15:57 - “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:25 - “To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”

Song Lyrics: “I heard an old, old story, how a Saviour came from glory, how He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me! I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning. Then I repented of my sins and won the victory! O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever! He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him. He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood! I heard about His healing, of His cleansing pow'r revealing how He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see. And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit," and somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory! I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory. And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea; about the angels singing, and the old redemption story. And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory … victory in Jesus!”
